About EPIN

Comprehensive

EPIN is a network of leading European think tanks and policy institutes focusing on contemporary European and EU political debate and policy analysis. It has 25 member institutes across 21 countries - including most of the EU member states, accession and candidate countries. Through its expert and comprehensive network of think tanks, EPIN aims to make a major contribution to the Future of Europe debate as well as to provide information about the ratification process of the EU Constitutional Treaty.

Access to all the National Views of the enlarged EU

EPIN provides comprehensive and high quality analysis for all those interested in the European policy debate - both the pan-European and the national debates. Today's European Union depends on the political goals and choices in all the member states, soon to be 27 in number: understanding the national level is vital to understanding the dynamics of the EU as a whole. EPIN provides a simple access route to up-to-the-minute analysis of the national European debate in all the member states, accession states and current candidate countries. Through its meetings, research and publications EPIN brings together the different national perspectives and the pan-European debate and analysis into new policy critiques and contributions.

Aims and activities:

  • Promoting pan-European debate and analysis of the key future of Europe issues through networking leading European thinktanks and so providing comprehensive European coverage of contemporary political developments.

  • Developing new analysis of the political dynamics of all the different national debates, including their impact on the ratification process of the EU Constitutioanl Treaty and their implications for the politics of the enlarged EU.

  • Carrying out joint research, analysis and commentary on key issues of the debate - published by EPIN in working papers and comment pieces. Promoting wide dissemination to politicians, officials, media, business, unions, and NGOs across Europe.

  • Organising meetings and seminars in the member states and candidate countries to promote debate and discussion.
